Watching the birds

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately but it is a hectic time of year which we all love.  I finally have a little time for myself so thought I would post a card.  Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog and I appreciate all of the comments.  I used a Memory Box stamp with this card and after coloring, I glittered the birds.  The background paper is by Basic Grey and was in my stash.  The pine needles die is from Impression Obsession, the cat die from Cheery Lynn, and the window die from Memory Box.  Enjoy.

Cardinal

I love doing the sky areas of cards but haven't really gotten into it too much.  There are so many beautiful colors of inks out there to choose from.  On this card, I used an old retired SU ink  which is Cool Caribbean  I sponged it on white glossy cardstock leaving splotches of white cloud showing.  I then stamped the limbs on using an old stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I then punched out a red cardinal using a Martha Stewart punch.  I embossed the cherry cobbler cardstock from SU and layered that onto a white card.  This was taught the other week at Paper Ink on the downtown mall and hopefully we will have enough people for another class.  Enjoy!

Loving Purple

Good morning Bloggers.  I got the idea for this card from the Penny Black blog and Pinterest.  I love the sky color and this Penny Black stamp.  I've bene playing wiht different sky colors this week and hopefully will get another post done soon.  I'm using different inks on the sky but mostly the Ranger distress inks.  I used Shaded Lilac plus another one on this sky.  Thank you for looking.

Summer daisies

I did this card a couple of monthsago and it so reminds you of summer!  The stamp is by Stamps by Judith and my good friend bought it at the Chantilly show back in June.  I just had to borrow it and color it with my copics.  I attached a cheery Lynn butterfly and used a sentiment from SU.  Hope you enjoy this as we ride out the storm!  We can keep our fingers crossed that it is not going to do much damage and we won't lose power.

Hummingbird by Sparkle N Sprinkle

This is an old card that I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I used copics for coloring and used the tear-ific tape that SNS sells to put two strips on the card and then covered those with purple glitter.
This stamp set and the Tear-ific Tape can be found at the store of SNS at www.sparklensprinkle.com.  The tape comes in several different sizes -- 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", and the large 2 1/2".  Enjoy!

Purple asters

This stamp and die set of asters was purchased last month from Heartfelt Creations.  The pack of paper had 24 double sided sheets and were made for the stamps and asters.  Plus, of course, purple is one of my favorite colors.  I stamped the image with Momento ink and colored with Copic markers.  I die cut the asters ,  colored the centers and layered them onto the image.  I only die cut the two larger asters.

Summer Flowers

I have been away from blogging for so long that it is like starting over!  I am still making cards and have started some scrapbooking so maybe I am going to get back to blogging also.  I made this card using a SU stamp, Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn and Memory Box dies.

Poppy stamp dies

Good morning everyone!  I made this card using Webster's pages for the background.  It then used Poppy Stamps Dies to die cut the bird cage and the bird.  I attached these to the paper using small dots of crystal accents.  The bird cage has some brown and white twine tied through the top of it.  This is then layered onto a blue card.  I stamped celebrate! on the front using Stampin Up's stamp.  Very quick and easy!  Love those dies!

St. Patrick's Day

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately. Life is moving along so fast and I am enjoying every minute!  We had a snowstorm last weekend and had about 8-10 inches of snow.  It was a beautiful snow but we lost electricity for about 24 hours.  Now we are back to having wind and rain.  The sunny weather will be here soon!  Since tomorrow will be the first of March, I am looking for some beautiful spring days (without allergies!! LOL).   Posted by Picasa

DIE CUTS

Can you believe that I used no stamps on this card? I used a cuttlebug folder for the background on pattern paper. I then used my Grand Calibur die cutting machine to cut out all of the dies. I used a total of five dies on this card, three from Poppy Stamps dies and two from Cheery Lynn dies. I used chalks to color the bird and put a pearl in the center of one flower. Hope this gives you some inspiration.

Red Grapes

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but have been busy with finishing up an order of cards and working at www.paperink.net three days a week. The store has the new Cheery Lynn dies in stock and I have had so much fun demoing these delicate dies. We also have the double sided adhesive that is made for die cutting. The adhesive does not make your dies sticky and it sticks beautifully! The above card was made for SparkleNSprinkle. They came out with some new wine stamps the other month (when I was having computer problems) and I am just getting around to showing what I did with the stamps. I colored this one with prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I highlighted all of the "wet" droplets with Ranger's clear accents. You can go to www.sparklensprinkle.com to see many more views of the wine cards and to order the stamps. Have a great day!

Happy Heart

Thought I would post another valentine card. The image is from SparkleNSprinkle. The image was stamped with white pigment ink onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then used the Range distress inks in Spun Sugar, Pumice Stone, and the new Red from the Christmas pack. I started with the lightest color working my way up to the darkest. I used the blending tool to get a good blending of the colors. A white satin ribbon was tied around this and then layered onto charcoal cardstock and this was attached to red cardstock. Very easy card. You can buy this image from www.sparklensprinkle.com and it is one of the small sets so very reasonable in cost.

Bee Mine

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but the most wonderful thing has happened! I am now working 2-3 days per week at Paper Ink on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, VA. This store opened a couple of months ago and is adding new stamps, cardstock, pens, etc. daily. I am so happy to be part of this team! I design cards using all of this new stuff and demo the die cutting with the Grand Calibur. I also teach card making classes. You can go to their web site at www.paperink.net to see pictures of the team's work. After being off from work for a whole year, I am gradually getting my body back in shape to work three days a week. This is an opportunity made in heaven!! Anyway, I am going to try to upload cards more often now. For the above card I have used the Bee Mine stamp set from www.sparklensprinkle.com. This is such an adorable set! I used a Cuttlebug folder for the background, a Fiskars border punch for the bottom row of hearts, a Memory Die for the corner flourish, and a Spellbinders circle heart for the pink circle. I used my Copics to color the pink butterfly. Enjoy!
