Textured Background

Happy sunny day to everyone!  It is cold here in Virginia today but the sun is shinning!  Spring is on its way!  I have a stash of colored images and found this one and decided to make a card with it.  I had colored the image which is a Stampin Up image from a couple of years ago, with copic markers.  I embossed a piece of orchid opulence cs from SU (retired color) using my cuttlebug machine.  I then brayered chocolate ink (PTI) over the raised area.  I die cut the flourish image and also the corner pieces (which are cut in half).  I stamped my sentiment on white cs and punched out.  I then layered this over the ribbon.  I used certainly celery, orchid opulence, and white cardstock.  This is such a beautiful iris that I need to pull out that set and do more!

HAPPY SUNDAY ON THIS SNOWY DAY

Wow, was I surprised yesterday!  My daughter asked me to come over and babysit.  My two grandsons had a small birthday cake for me when I got there with a beautiful frame of a tree with pics of all of my family.  Then she asked me to go with her to the meeting she had at church while hubby kept the boys.  I knew something was up when she asked me to go!!  We got to the church and my stamping group was there to surprise me!!  That was so sweet and thoughtful!!  I just love this group and we have been together for eight years.  Rose had prepared some nifty paper projects for everyone to make and the food was scrumptious!  Of course, I had to blow out the candles and they sung happy birthday.  Thank you everyone for making my "70th" memorable.
By the way, I do not feel my age!  It is only a number!!

Happy Day

Thanks to everyone that left comments on my blog for the hop!  I always enjoy reading the comments!  Blogland is such a sweet world!  Sparklensprinkle has announced the winners from the blog hop and if you go to http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/ you can see who won!  This was so much fun!!  Now for today's card -- I have chosen another card with stamps from http://www.sparklensprinkle.com/.  They have such nice stamps and I just love being a designer.  I love this verse and heat embossed it with bulldog embossing powder.  If anyone wants to know how it was completed you can go to http://sparklensprinkle.com/g/view_photo.php?set_albumName=St_Patricks_Day&id=ack and all of the directions are right there!  Have a great weekend!  Virginia is expecting snow tomorrow which I would guess would be our last snow for this season!!

HAPPY BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Untraditional Mother's Day Blog Hop, which begins at the SNS Home Blog here, http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/

Hopefully you have been enjoying the beautiful cards presented by my fellow Sparkle Team designers. Our Mother's Day inspired hop is untraditional because we're displaying cards which honor special women in our lives, whether they are Moms or not. We hope you will enjoy these feminine cards, and perhaps create something special for the dear women who regularly and meaningfully touch your life. Today my card is dedicated to my daughter, Sondra. We are best friends and cry on each others shouders and "bitch" when necessary!  She has so much courage and loves life.  Her two sons are the joy of my life!!

Thanks for leaving  a comment before hopping on over to Erika's at http://taylordconcepts.blogspot.com/ for further inspiration.  I hope you win a prize.  Have a beautiful hop!!

Loopy Bow

I have just fallen in love with the seam binding to make loopy bows!  This seam binding came from Stampin Up in vanilla.  I had watched a video on You Tube by Sherry Cheever at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5wpkmgWWcQ&feature=player_embedded#at=26 and it looked so simple that I tried it!  I died the ribbon with Papertrey Ink spring moss dye ink and spritzed it with a pearl mixture of perfect pearls and water.  I scrunched the ribbon and dried it with my heat tool.   I frayed the ends to make it look vintage.  I used a stamping set from http://www.sparklennsprinkle.com/.  This set has so many lovel stamps in it.  I embossed the sentiment with Dog Gone embossing powder from sparklensprinkle.  I also used my old fathful swiss dots embossing folder.  I have also ordered a roll of seam binding that is 100 yards long in white made by Hug Snug as in the video.  I can't wait to start coloring and making so many different colored ribbons!!

Easter Blessings

It is a cloudy cool day here in Virginia so I thought I would upload a card that I have made for Easter.  This set is by Stampin  Up and I used their new color concord grape.  I had a hard time accepting the concord grape color when it first came out but have now fallen in love with the color.  I also love silhouette stamps.  Have a great day.

Spring Day

It is going to be 80 degrees here in Virginia today!!  Beautiful spring day!  I am going to open the windows and let the spring air blow through the house.  I do have to clean house today and since I don't especially like to clean these nice temperatures will help to motivate me!  Now to the daffodil card -- it is a simple clean card.  I embossed the white layer with one of my cuttlebug folders and then stamped the daffodils with black inck and clear embossed.  I colored the daffodils with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.  This is a stamp set from Stampin Up and is in the current mini book.  I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day!  .

Happy Birthday Son

I haven't been on here for ages and I apologize.  Issues with life have been going on but I now am back and hopefully will be able to post several times a week.  Today, I want to wish my oldest son, Kent, a happy birthday for his 50th birthday!  Doesn't time fly!  It doesn't seem possible that 50 years has passed since I held him in my arms.  This card is a tri-fold card with stamps and glitter from http://www.sparklensprinkle.com/
