NOT SO MACHO MASCULINE CARDS BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Sparnkle N Sprinkle "Not So Macho Masculin Cards" blog hop.  If you hopped here by way of Shona's blog at http://www.shonasstampingstage.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right spot.  This is a hop featuring all types of masculine cards and we  hope you will hop to all of the blogs and enjoy all of the team's cards.  I have two cards for you today featuring fun baseball players.  The first card is very simple.  I colored the baseball player with Copic Markers and used the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders Paper Arts to cut out the image with the diamond shaped dies.  I then used sticky paper and cut out a larger diamond and two smaler diamonds.  I peeled off the layer of paper exposing the adhesive, stuck on the image, and then sprinkled on detail silver embossing powder to the exposed edges which I heat embossed.  This is such an easy way to apply the powder.  I then attached these silver embossed pieces to red cardstock which was layered to a black card that was cut in an A2 size.

This player was done in the same fashion as the last one except I used a new flocking color from http://www.sparklensprinkle.com/.  The color is amber wheat and I thought it was so pretty to use as "dirt".  I am donating this jar of amber wheat as part of the first place prize.  I can see using this on cattails, wheat, and many more fall items.  Whoever the grand prize winner is, I hope you will send me a copy of your card when you use the amber wheat.

lIf you missed starting the blog hop at http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/2011/05/%E2%80%9Cthe-not-so-macho-masculine-card%E2%80%9D-blog-hop then go back there and start.  Then follow each blog until you end up back at www.sparklensprinkle.com/blog/.  There is a grand prize of a stamp set of your choice together with something from each blog and the second place winner will win a stamp set of their choice.  When you leave my blog you need to hop to Patti White's blog at http://www.oursparkleadventure.com/p/not-so-macho-masculine-card-contest.html.  Enjoy your hop and don't forget to leave comments at all of the blogs for more chances to win.  Thank you for looking.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone!  Today is a beautiful day here in Virgiinia -- sun is shinning and it is suppose to get to 85 degrees.  A great Easter Sunday!  The bunny is from Sparklensprinkle and I paper pieced her dress.  The pattern paper is Basic Grey.  The yellow, avacado, light blue and white cardstock is all from Papertrey Ink.  I used Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol plus Copic markers to color everything!  Enjoy your day!

Springtime bunnies

Aren't these bunnies just the cutest??  When Flourishes came out with this set I just had to have it!  I don't buy as many stamps as I use to but this set caught my heart strings!  I colored the bunnies with a combination of pencils and Copic markers.  I then cut them out with this beautiful die that I have had for sometime using my Grand Caliber machine from Spellbinders.  The designer paper is by Prima.  You will be seeing more of these cards using this stamp set from Flourishes.  Hope you enjoy!

Migrating butterflies

Hey everyone!  Here in Virgnia today it is cloudy, rainy, thunderstorms, etc. so a good day to "play" in my craft room.  I am doing a craft show at the Earlysville Fire Department this Sat. and am trying to finish up a little boy baby album!  These baby things are so sweet and I can envision all of the cute smiley pictures that will go into the albums!  I'm a sucker for babies!!  Anyway, the card above is a very simple card.  I got a coupld of new embossing folders from http://www.creativeplaystamps.com/.  I believe these folders are bySizzix.  I embossed the buttefly folder with so saffron cardstock from Stampin Up and then  loaded my brayer with Chocolate Ink from Papertrey Ink and lightly brayered the chocolate onto the raised area.  I used a new stamp I had bought by Inkadinkado and stamped the sentiment in Chocolate.  I added some dark brown pearls, wrapped chocolate and yellow ribbon around it and then attached it to a chocolate card.  Easy peasy!

Kindness is appreciated

Morning everyone!  Spring weather is here!  Yea.  Why don't you go and visit http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/ and see a couple of lovely thank you cards.  The above one of mine is featured ont their blog and you will also see the stamp set that has ALL kinds of thanks. I just love these sets that have all of the matched sentiments in one set!  So easy to reach for different ones when doing a batch of cards and you  can have a different sentiment on each card.  Plus they are all in one place!!   I did a vintage look with my "thanks" using ribbon, lace, distressing, flowers, etc.  I want to thank everyone for their comments and I read everyone!

April contest at SNS

What a beautiful sunny day here in Virginia but we are suppose to have thunderstorms, etc. tonight but for today it is going to be gorgeous! I have two beautiful cards to share with you today!  Sparkle N Sprinkle is having an April contest (and you could win prizes) regarding "Remarkable Women".  All of us have some of those remarkable women in our lives -- mothers, grandmothers, friends, sisters, daughters, aunts -- you get the picture!  Why not enter the contest at http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/2011/04/april-card-contest-remarkable-women/ and try to win a prize?!  These same two cards are up on their blog so please be sure to visit and leave comments and then play!!
Isn't this a beautiful saying for a grandmother?  The sentiment and the cup is embossed in antiquities gold and looks very fragile and old.

Do these cards make you want to try to win a prize?!  Have a beautiful dary!
